TABLE | Elevated Greens Acai Bowl

February 8, 2017

Oh my greens! When people ask what makes us different at Greenheart, we always refer to the quality of our ingredients. Not only are our products 100 percent organic, but they’re often filled with medicinal plants, superfoods and tonic herbs that literally have the power to transform your blood chemistry and energetic vibration for an elevated state of well being.

This acai bowl, though not green in color, is packed with a healthy dose of green plant powders. All are a healthy addition to any diet, meaning their use is not specific or limited to any ailment or dis-ease. We carry all of them in the shop and breakdown the health benefits of each below.

Ashitaba -- Perhaps our favorite green powder we stock in the shop. Known in Chinese culture as a heart opener and in Japan as “tomorrow’s leaf.” It is being studied for it’s ability to stimulate nerve growth hormone, which could have a big impact on longevity. Most notably, it nourishes the blood (supplies B6 and B12 vitamins) and is used by women to increase the flow of breast milk (hey, all you nursing mamas).

Matcha -- An antioxidant and nutrient rich green tea powder great for stimulating metabolism. Antioxidants provide protection from harmful free radicals responsible for aging, tissue damage and some inflammatory diseases. Matcha also contains caffeine and L-Theanine, which work together to provide a sustainable and focused energy or a state of calm alertness, if you will.

Moringa -- Known as the “miracle leaf,” this plant is a nutritional powerhouse more nutrient dense than both spinach and kale. In addition to minerals like Potassium, Calcium, Iron, Selenium and Magnesium, this powder offers up high levels of vitamins B, C, D and E. It is ideal for improved overall nutrition. Like Ashitaba, it also increases breast milk production.

Green Adaptogen -- Adaptogens have become huge in the wellness world for their ability to help build our bodies’ response to stress. And who doesn’t deal with stress, right? Most well-known adaptogens are mushrooms like Chaga, Cordyceps and Reishi. But not everyone’s immune system can handle mushrooms (they’re a member of the nightshade family), so the Green Adaptogen is a nice alternative. It’s an activating and balancing blend of Suma, Maca and Chlorella -- a combination meant to promote energy levels and strengthen the immune system.

e3live BrainON  -- A blue-green freshwater microalgae that grows in the pristine waters of Oregon. It helps promote mood balance and enhanced focus. Similar to matcha, it enhances concentration and clarity. A great addition to any morning smoothie, acai bowl, tonic or juice.
